ROBOTICS OUTREACH EVENTS

T.G.I.R.F '24 (The Goa International Robotics Festival '24) FTC (First Tech Challenge) 2024 Team R Factor #6024: January 2024

  • Organized and conducted FTC (First Tech Challenge) 2024 at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Goa, India, with my Robotics team, R Factor #6024

  • Assisted and guided 59 FTC teams including 3 Sri-Lankan Teams (Team Bumblebee #25256, Team Sonic Max #25254, and Team Robot Masters #25255) and 3 Kazakhstan Teams (Sana Team #24697, Qazaq Style #25055, and Team xCellence #22934) with the mechanics and programming of their robots - overseeing / troubleshooting was a part of our role at the event

  • Assisted and guided several Indian FTC teams including Team Pangaea #21971 (American School of Bombay) and Team Matrix #20870 (Dhirubhai Ambani International School) with required equipments and robot parts

  • Carried out field inspection, robot inspection, and pit running (addressing each team and calling them for their respective qualification)

  • Closely inspected all 89 qualifications at FTC 2024 in the playfield and motivated the drive teams to put in their best

M.P.S.T.M.E Taqneeq Tech Fest: February 2024

  • Demonstrated our team's (R Factor #6024) FRC Robot at Mukesh Patel School of Management Technology and Engineering (one of the premier colleges for engineering in Mumbai) during the Taqneeq TechFest

  • Introduced FRC as a competition to a crowd of 1,000+ and explained to other stall members and visitors the functioning of our robot, which included introducing them to parts such as PDH (power distribution hub), Roborio, navX gyroscope, swerve drive mechanism, and the shooter mechanism

  • Explained to visitors the controls of our FRC robot using the Xbox controller and allowed them to gain hands-on experience controlling our FRC robot - this was just a few weeks before the main FRC competition which we participated in at Istanbul, Turkey

St. Haris High School Outreach: December 2023

  • Mentored 100+ students (Grade 5) of St. Haris High School (a public state school in Mumbai, India) on the importance and prevalence of robotics, and how it could impact and change our day-to-day life

  • Introduced the students to hand-held drilling and metal cutting using a DeWalt Power Cutter, and explained to them the importance of mechanical elements such as churros, box channels, shafts, washers, Colson wheels, gears, and swerve drive motors, which were all used in our FRC robot assembled for FRC 2024 Crescendo, held in Istanbul, Turkey

  • Gave students hands-on experience with the drilling machine by allowing them to drill a small hole into an aluminum box channel (following due safety precautions) with an adult supervising the entire process

  • Taught students how to mark a point on a box channel using a pen, a 90-degree bracket, and a measuring tape and also explained to them the importance of accuracy in taking measurements

  • Introduced the students to the concept of 'filing' using a metal file and explained to them how to use the file safely without causing any injury
