IBDP CULTURAL REPRESENTATIVE - STUDENT GOVERNMENT

  • Having involved myself in several cultural activities such as MUNs and dramatics gave me the confidence to stand for the position of the cultural representative in the school government body through my IBDP years (Grades 11 & 12)

  • I was elected as the IBDP Cultural Representative through an election process consisting of over 200 voters, who were the students of IBDP Grade 11 & 12 at my school, JNIS

  • After being elected as the Cultural Representative, I organized and compèred several cultural events at school

  • I organized and compèred an Interhouse Mathematics Competition on 14th March 2024 (World Pi Day) called 'Mathathon' where 6 houses competed against each other on a challenging math question and a 10-question algebra quiz

  • I also organized and compèred the biggest event of IBDP at JNIS, Grand Cultural - an amalgamation of dance, music, and drama, put into a 12-minute skit on the theme of 'what-if', where we twisted the plot of popular movies such as 'What if Harry Potter was sorted into Slytherin'

  • I also organized an Elocution Interhouse competition for Grades 11 & 12

JAMNABAI NARSEE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET 2024

EUMIND (EUROPE MEETS INDIA) FOREIGN EXCHANGE CULTURAL PROGRAMME

  • In Grade 9, I participated in an online foreign exchange programme between Jamnabai Narsee International School and Het Rijnlands Lyceum International School in Oegstgeest, Holland

  • I led a team of 6 students while interacting online with students from The Netherlands, and discussed how cultural norms in the nation affect family life and relations

  • Conducted 10+ hours of interviews of 3 different generations and learnt the differences in ways of living of different generations

  • I managed the editing, videography, information, report, and communications teams for smooth coordination during report making and submissions of reports on cultural differences between families in The Netherlands and India

  • Won the 'Best Article' award for timely and well-ideated submissions of reports

MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN)

  • Being someone who has always leaned towards STEM, participating in MUNs was not my natural instinct

  • Despite this, I chose to participate in IYC 2023 (annual MUN organised by my school, JNIS) as a part of the G20 committee which addressed the agenda of combatting drug trafficking in Latin America - I represented Venezuela, a highly involved country in this agenda

  • Despite being a stage-shy person, I challenged myself to speak, effectively addressed a committee of over 100 delegates, and made alliances with other countries

  • I came up with a draft resolution with alliance countries on how to combat drug trafficking in Latin America, which was approved and passed by the committee

  • My performance was noticed by the Chair of G20, who nominated me for the Night Crisis, a special committee consisting of the 3 best delegates from each committee, to tackle a previously unknown agenda

  • Throughout the two days of IYC 2023, I managed to maintain my level of enthusiasm and confidence in all my speeches and interactions, which gave me the award of "Best Delegation" in my first MUN

  • Discovering this newfound talent in me, I chose to sign up as the chairman of the G20 committee (the biggest committee of 98 delegates) in Grade 12 at IYC 2024 - this was after being selected through a rigorous interview process

  • I also got the opportunity to be the chairman for the 'Night Crisis' committee, which consisted of 18 of the best delegates from each committee at IYC 2024
